Library Associate 3 - Student Supervisor - Circulation
The Library Associate 3 reports to the Head, Circulation Services and is directly responsible for supervising and maintaining a trained work force of student workers for all areas within Circulation Services. The Student Supervisor is also responsible for the application and interpretation of circulation policies.
Description of Duties
|60%||Responsible for the hiring, firing, training, and supervising of all student workers and graduate assistants who work in the Circulation Services unit. Prepares time sheets for student workers and graduate assistants to meet the deadline of each payroll period.|
|20%||During all hours of department operation, assigns the pool of trained students in Circulation on a priority basis to all the areas in Circulation Services as needed, making sure all tasks are completed as charged while remaining within the budget. Uses independent judgment for the resolution of problems including any emergency involving patrons and/or the building.|
|20%||Maintains unit’s electronic presence, editing all internal and public information as necessary. Maintains reports of security incidents within the library. Oversees scheduling of Group Collaboration Spaces and Presentation Practice Rooms.|
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2-3 years relevent library experience
- Supervisory Experience
- Proficiency with computers and ability to quickly learn new software and platforms such as Drupal, SharePoint, and SpringShare products.
