The United States Civil War Center
Civil War Collections & the Civil War Book Review

The mission of the United States Civil War Center is to promote interdisciplinary study of the American Civil War. It was founded in 1993 by novelist David Madden, Professor Emeritus of English at Louisiana State University, and is supported in part by a donation from the late Frank Magill, founder of Salem Press.

The Center publishes the Civil War Book Review online and promotes use of research materials at LSU and elsewhere to further study of the Civil War. The Center is not a museum or library, but facilitates preservation of Civil War documents and artifacts by putting potential donors in touch with libraries, archives, and museums dedicated to preserving America's cultural heritage.
