BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL NOTE

Livingston Polk Ferris was an electrical engineer of Ashton Plantation, Lecompte, Louisiana.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection contains Ferris’ professional correspondence from 1920-1968, pertaining mainly to his work on electric railroads and experiments with electrical shock. Other papers in the collection include reports of experiments, lectures, technical papers, notebooks, films, and other materials pertaining mainly to experimental work with electricity.
