SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The photograph album (unbound) contains 103 black and white prints mounted on paper. The images show scenes from several locations in Louisiana during the 1920s. It is not known whether Joseph S. Tate was the photographer. It is known that the album was his property.

Places appearing in the photographs include Baton Rouge, New Orleans, St. Martinville, Morgan City, Avery Island, and Franklin. The New Orleans images show scenes of Mardi Gras, The Vieux Carré, buildings, and architectural details. There are also photos of Bayous scenes, particularly Bayou Teche.
