The University Archives Collections:
Drawing from such collections as the LSU Photograph Collection, Office of the Chancellor Records, and Office of Public Relations Records, this exhibition features photographs of LSU’s first All-Americans, Gaynell Tinsley and Marvin “Moose” Stewart; “Miracle” Abe Mickal; Gus Kinchen and Merle Schexnaildre of the legendary Chinese Bandits; Bert Jones, “the Ruston Rifle;” among others. Also included are images of the athletic field on the downtown campus and Tiger Stadium from its completion in 1924 to the 1970. Most images before 1930 can be found in the LSU Archives Photograph Collection in the Louisiana Digital Library:

The exhibition draws upon the Center’s University History, LSU Athletics Collection, in which former students, administrators, faculty, and staff have been interviewed to tell the story of LSU History. With over sixty brief audio clips and stories to choose from, the listener can tailor their experience to fit their curiosity about LSU Football history, whether it pertains to The Game, Facilities, and/or football Culture.
