Scott Purdy: As a final question, can you tell me what sorts of feelings you have for your former teammates and for the institution.

Merle Schexnaildre: The highest. You know, as you know, we had the big 100-year centennial meeting this spring. That was great, that brought us all back together again and . . . You know, the team, Scott, is more than just the lettermen, you know. That needs to be mentioned, because there were those, you know, that made up the difference between thirty-three or so who played and eighty or ninety who were on the team and never made it or made it in later years, okay, who were all part of it, okay, and a necessary part.
