Muggah-Glover-Guyther Family Papers
Anchorage Sept 20th 1850
Dear Cousin Julia,
Natchez has been very well all summer. It is now getting more lively. The new Fall goods are coming, which of course draws people. The style for Ladies dress is very gay for the winter. The telegraph from Vicksburg is finished to Natchez. It is particularly a rapid way of getting news. I believe they intend to meet the New Orleans line. The office in town has afforded considerable sport here. The backwoods folks go in to see and those in town are amused at their expense. We have no news that would interest you. With the hope that you all are well, I remain very affectionately your Cousin
Mary
