P95 Process and Outcome Evaluation of the LSU AgCenter SNAP-Ed Program Using Microsoft Dynamics 365
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) encourages healthier eating through education and policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) changes to support access to healthier foods. Collecting and managing data for process and outcome evaluations is challenging for SNAP-Ed implementing agencies (IAs) with variation in direct education and PSE change projects implemented. Several IAs have used the Program Evaluation and Reporting System (PEARS) to gather and manage evaluation data, but this may be cost prohibitive for IAs with smaller budgets. The LSU AgCenter Information Technology (IT) department adapted Microsoft Dynamics 365 to the evaluation needs of the LSU AgCenter SNAP-Ed program. To conduct a process evaluation of direct education and PSE change work conducted by the LSU AgCenter SNAP-Ed program in Federal Fiscal Year 2019-2020 using the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Application. LSU AgCenter IT staff adapted Dynamics to collect the data necessary to report against priority indicators in the SNAP-Ed evaluation framework. IT staff created separate reporting modules for individual direct education contacts, groups of direct education contacts, community partnerships, community coalitions, and PSE changes. SNAP-Ed frontline staff were trained on the reporting system in a series of hands-on, in-person meetings held prior to March 2020. LSU AgCenter staff report direct education contacts, partnerships, coalitions, and PSE changes made in the Microsoft Dynamics application. Data can be disaggregated according to demographic information, location, and implementing staff member, enabling data to be used in performance evaluations and analyses of equity in program access. Feedback about the reporting system was overwhelmingly positive. The system collected data necessary for reporting to state and federal funding agencies. Over the course of FY2020, LSU AgCenter established 502 partnerships, made 6,473 direct education contacts, and 118 PSE changes. The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Application was easily adapted to the evaluation needs of the LSU AgCenter SNAP-Ed program. Process and outcome evaluation data indicated that the LSU AgCenter met its goals for FY2020.

Can I request materials of interest before I arrive?
Yes, you have the option to place requests to view materials in our reading room after you have set up an online account. We highly suggest that you make a request in advance because some materials must be retrieved from an off-site storage facility (requiring 48 business hours of advanced notice) and in-house materials can only be retrieved by staff from our closed stacks. Visit the librarys public catalog. (https://lsu.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/lsu) TIP: In the first drop down box that defaults to Everything, simply select Special Collections and then conduct your search. Can I access an "unprocessed" collection?
It depends! This is a curator-level decision and will vary for each case. All requests for access to unprocessed collections require the Williams Center director's authorization. Any duplications of unprocessed interviews are not allowed beyond "Fair Use" unless this restriction is cleared by the director upon staff review of the item. Please note that the review process may take at least 1-2 business days, depending on the size of the collection. Answered by: Jennifer Cramer
How can I order a copy of audio, transcription, or both?
You'll want to check to see if the interview is in the Louisiana Digital Library. If it is not on the LDL, and is cataloged and available, then please follow the procedures outlined via LSU Libraries Special Collections Public Services. Be sure to have the collection number, tape number, and the name of the interviewee handy to fill out the form. Please note-these copy requests are not processed by Williams Center personnel but through Public Services, as indicated in the above procedures. The interview will be sent to you as PDF or a MP3. What should I bring with me when I visit the Reading Room?
A pencil, paper for notetaking, and personal devices (e.g. laptop, tablet, cellphone, camera) are allowed in the Reading Room. Food, drinks, pens, and portable scanners are not allowed. All personal items such as bags (including laptop and camera cases), briefcases, purses, coats, and umbrellas must be left in one of the secure lockers that are provided free of charge in the lobby. Be aware that anything brought into the Reading Room is subject to search before you leave.
