Where do I search for electronic theses/dissertations published by other universties?
FAQ
Tile HTML Summary
The best database for searching and locating electronic theses and dissertations not published by LSU is Proquest Dissertations and Theses: Global (https://libezp.lib.lsu.edu/login?url=https://search.proquest.com/pqdtgl…) . As the official digital dissertations archive for the Library of Congress and as the database of record for graduate research, PQDTGlobal includes millions of searchable citations to dissertations and theses from 1861 to the present day together with over a million full-text dissertations that are available for download in PDF format. You can find this database by going to the Databases tab on the library's homepage (https://www.lib.lsu.edu/) . Either search the name of the database or select the letter that its name begins with, and scroll down. The databases will be listed in alphabetical order. See the attached screenshot. In the event the title is not available digitally through this database, I would recommend placing an interlibrary loan (https://www.lib.lsu.edu/services/ill) request. They will try to borrow a hard copy from another library or explore purchase options for obtaining the title. eResources Staff

Where should I return library checkouts?
FAQ
Tile HTML Summary
Standard book returns (including ILL books) can be placed in one of the book drops on the first floor (across from the main stairwell and behind the front desk) or brought to the checkout desk in room 241. When the library is closed, patrons can use the overnight book drop to the right of the quad-side entrance. NOTE: Reserve and Gear2Geaux items (laptops, chargers, etc.) often have time-specific due dates! Please be sure to bring these items directly to the checkout desk to avoid accruing accidental overdue charges.

Why can't the library discuss my fines with my parents?
FAQ
Tile HTML Summary
Details of student library accounts are covered under the same FERPA laws that ensure privacy of student education records. In addition, Louisiana state law also prohibits the disclosure of details of library accounts except under certain circumstances. We encourage students to contact us directly in person or by email at libcirc@lsu.edu (mailto:libcirc@lsu.edu) if they have questions about fines.
