Development Schedule

• Soft Launch
  • Occurs when website functionality and features are successful
  • Internal library launch for content population, review and testing
  • Available on-campus or through VPN
• Opt-In Launch
  • Occurs when content population and review has been completed successfully
  • A prompt to "Preview the New Library Website" will be posted on the current website
  • Public launch as a "preview site", available everywhere alongside current website
• Hard Launch (also known as opt-out launch)
  • Occurs when preview site has demonstrated success through user testing
  • New website is now the default option
  • Public launch, with the option to visit the old site that will be hosted for however long we need it.

This Soft Launch phase includes the following:

• Migration of new website to the Frey Computing Services Center Building
  • This is the permanent location of our server
  • Moving here now will allow us to adjust to the workflow needed for the next phase of the website launch
  • Domain name: https://lib2.lsu.edu

• Content planning, creation and implementation
  • Christine Wendling will be heading consultations with groups to assist with planning and implementation of content
    • Michael and I will attend these consultations as needed
    • There are no expectations of completed content before the consultation

• Continuation of website feature development and transition into optimization

• Weekly updated changelog and upcoming updates emails on Fridays
