Woodruff, Clark, 1791-1851. Letter, 1834 Oct. 21. 1 letter. Location: Misc. Clark Woodruff was a state representative for West Feliciana Parish (1826-28), judge of the eighth judicial district court (1828-36), and manager of the Myrtles Plantation. Clark Woodruff writes from Madisonville, La., to Morris Woodruff in Litchfield, Conn., regarding his sending of a check to pay off a note, the education of his daughter Mary Octavia under Morris' care, his own poor health, his being cheated out of an election, and Whig Party presidential politics. Description
Woolfley, Francis Augustus, 1893-1993. Papers, 1913-1993. 13 linear ft. Location: 115, 82, 99, 104. Army general who served in the 76th Infantry Division in World War II. Woolfley was also commandant of cadets at LSU and served as Louisiana director of civil defense, 1953-1958 and 1960-1964. Military papers covering General Woolfley's army career from 1913 to 1953 including maps and photographs. Correspondence, photographs, and news clippings document his service as director of civil defense. LSU material is filed with University Archives. For further information, see online catalog. Woolley was a photojournalist and resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This collection contains commissioned, professional, and personal photographs, as well as business correspondence, family letters, writings, printed items, and autobiographical items. The majority of the collection consists of 235 photographs created in the 1950s and 1960s and printed between 1995 and 1997 for LSU Special Collections. Also includes page proofs for unpublished manuscript, "Louisiana at Mid-Century: 1945 – 1960." Mss. 4650.
