Durieux was a professor emeritus of graphic arts at LSU and was involved with literary and artistic programs sponsored by the Works Progress Administration. Interview concerns Durieux's work with, and the importance of, the W.P.A. Federal Art Project in Louisiana and New Orleans during the 1930s. Topics include the purpose, importance, and effect of the project and the work of African American artists.
