This architectural rendering shows the future LSU Library & Learning Commons as it will appear from S. Campus Dr. near Field House Dr., where the building will be located.

Stanley Wilder outdoorsI am thrilled to share a major milestone in the development of LSU's new Library and Learning Commons. After years of planning and hard work, LSU’s Board of Supervisors has unanimously approved the schematic designs for our new library building. This vote marks a pivotal moment for the project, signaling that the development can now proceed full steam ahead.

While challenges are common with any large-scale project, this approval clears the path for moving forward. Our vision for this transformative space is becoming a reality, one step at a time!

The 193,000-square-foot Library and Learning Commons will be located at the corner of South Stadium Drive and Field House Drive, with construction set to begin in 2026 and completion expected by 2028. This state-of-the-art facility will not only enhance the student experience at LSU but also serve as a vital resource for the Baton Rouge community and the state of Louisiana for generations to come.

Thank you for your continued support as we move toward this exciting next chapter for LSU Libraries.

Geaux Tigers!
