New feature: Permanent links to catalog
We now offer a new feature in our online catalog that will allow you to retrieve permanent links to catalog records.
So, what does this mean to you? Here are a couple things you can do.
Share a Record by Linking to It
- Simply, use the catalog search to find the item you want.
- Click on the link "Permanent link to this record" on the left hand side in the box with the "Keep" button.
- Highlight the website address from your browser's address bar.
- Copy by right-clicking and selecting "Copy" or hit ctrl-c on your keyboard.
- Then paste the website address anywhere you would like (email, your personal website, a class syllabus, a homework assignment, letter to a friend, etc.)
- To paste either right-click and select "Paste" or hit ctrl-v on your keyboard.
Using Social Tools to Share a Record
(i.e. Delicious Bookmarks, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- Simply, use the catalog search to find the item you want.
- Click on the link "Permanent link to this record" on the left hand side in the box with the "Keep" button.
- Then use the social tools just as you would for any other website. (Look below for further help on using social tools to share and save web pages links)
