LSU Libraries at LSU Day

In celebration of LSU’s sesquicentennial, the campus is gearing up for LSU Day on Saturday, April 24, from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., an all day event full of a variety of experiences from departments all over campus.

The LSU Libraries will be one of the many participants in the day. Visitors to Hill Memorial Library can hear one of several presentations and browse the exhibit chronicling the 150 years of LSU. Alumni who have not visited the building since its renovation in the 1980s may be surprised at the beautiful environment in which we store our most rare and special collections and materials.

Alumni who visit Middleton Library may not remember that two floors were added to the top in the early 1980s, and that the first floor is now a popular location with a coffee shop, plenty of computers, and even a printer large enough to print aerial maps of Louisiana or graphic design posters.

A schedule of experiences in and near the library buildings is available on https://lib.lsu.edu/admin/dev/lsudayindex.html, as well as slide show of LSU Libraries past and present.

For more information about LSU Libraries @ LSU Day, contact Nancy Colyar, ncolyar@lsu.edu or 225-2578-3215.

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
