New Circulation service for faculty

Student IDs may be used to check out books to faculty members:

LSU Libraries has added the User Group function to its library system. If a faculty member writes a signed letter on department letterhead authorizing a student to check out material on his/her behalf, a User Group will be created under the professor’s account. After that, a student will be able to check out books for that faculty member using the student’s LSU ID card. All the student will need to do is to specify at the time that the books are checked out that the books are for Professor XXXX. Following this procedure will eliminate the need for the student to carry the professor’s ID card.

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
