In recognition of American Archives Month 2010, the LSU Libraries will host a talk by Leo Honeycutt, author of Edwin Edwards: Governor of Louisiana, on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Hill Memorial Library lecture hall. This event is free and open to the public.

Honeycutt’s presentation, entitled “Louisiana’s Place in America: A History in Pictures,” details the rise and fall of one of the modern era’s most controversial and polarizing political figures. Prior to being selected in 2005 to write Edwards’ official biography, Honeycutt was an award-winning television anchor and reporter for 28 years. His exhaustive research included dozens of personal interviews with Edwards and his family, friends, and former colleagues, piecing together the fascinating story of Louisiana’s only four-term governor.

Following his presentation, Honeycutt will discuss the research and writing process for the biography, including his use of the Libraries’ collections. After the discussion, Honeycutt will remain on hand for a book-signing and reception.
