During a typical day, Mona Jarreau, a Library Associate in the Circulation Department, arrives at Middleton Library at 7 am to begin sifting through the email messages that Professors have sent her. After receiving the reserve list each time one is submitted, she goes to the stacks to search for the items in question. Once the items are found, they can be processed and given a reserve time limit of: 2 hours, 1 day, and 3 days. She may also receive visits or additional emails from said Professors and Instructors about whether the items have been made available to their respective classes. Her duties also include management of the serials, requests to have serials bound every six months, and aiding at the Circulation desk during the busy hours.

Mona has been with LSU Libraries for twenty-five years this January. She began as the Circulation's Student Supervisor at night, then moved to holds, recalls and traces, then and then on to her current duties after a coworker left. Mona came to LSU after teaching for six years and was drawn to LSU due to her lifelong passion for the University. She enjoys that her job allows her to continually meet new faculty members and students. She hopes to continue making course reserves an open and amiable process for professors and staff.

In her spare time she enjoys collecting artwork, specifically stained glass, and is currently reading Edwin Edwards: Governor of Louisiana by Leo Honeycutt.
