LSU Libraries welcomes new librarian

LSU Libraries welcomes its newest librarian, Cristina Caminita, who joins the LSU Libraries as the Agriculture and Instruction Librarian.

Cristina received her MLIS from LSU's School of Library and Information Science in 2006 and earned an MA in English in 2002. She has worked as a records management consultant for Access Sciences Corporation and as a General Services Librarian and Instructor at Baton Rouge Community College. She has many years of experience teaching English Composition and Library User Instruction.

Cristina has received local and national awards for teaching, including the NISOD Excellence in Teaching Award. She has also presented at local and national conferences on a variety of topics, from institutional records management in higher education institutions to the circulation of electronic and computer equipment in academic libraries.

For the Spring 2012 semester, she will be teaching a new three-hour credit course, LIS 4001: Advanced Library Research Methods and Materials. Her research interests include information literacy, grey literature, digital libraries, and knowledge management.

Welcome, Cristina!
