LSU Libraries and social media

LSU's Communication across the Curriculum (CxC) recently shared with us that LSU ranked #8 on the recent release of the StudentAdvisor.com's "Top 100 Social Media Colleges," citing the CxC Digital Media Fest as this year's driving factor in the ranking. According to The StudentAdvisor.com website, they collect information about the activity and effectiveness of each school "at engaging their audiences on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other social media tools, such as iTunes and podcasts."

At the LSU Libraries, social media allows us to engage with our customers through a variety of channels, to provide information, education, and entertainment. So whether you’re on YouTube, Facebook, or Twitter- look us up!

While podcasts are not always thought of as social media, they are mentioned in the criteria for the Top 100 Social Media Colleges. The LSU Libraries’ T. Harry Williams Center for Oral History produces excerpts of its oral histories into podcasts. Oral history podcasts about the LSU campus, Hurricane Katrina, World War II, and many other topics can be downloaded from our website.
