LSU Film Series: Glory
The LSU Libraries Film Series is set to have its second film showing on Wednesday, February 20th, at 2:00 PM, in the Hill Memorial Library Lecture Hall. The second film, Glory, is about the Civil War’s first all-black regiment and is being shown in recognition of Black History Month. The film stars Matthew Broderick, Morgan Freeman, and Denzel Washington, who won a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his performance. The New York Times proclaimed Glory to be "beautifully acted," "pageant-like," and having "an almost overwhelming emotional impact." Glory will have a brief introduction from Professor Adam Pratt of the LSU History Department. Admission is free of charge, and there will also be refreshments.
