LSU Film Series: Glory

glory

The LSU Libraries Film Series is set to have its second film showing on Wednesday, February 20th, at 2:00 PM, in the Hill Memorial Library Lecture Hall. The second film, Glory, is about the Civil War’s first all-black regiment and is being shown in recognition of Black History Month. The film stars Matthew Broderick, Morgan Freeman, and Denzel Washington, who won a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his performance. The New York Times proclaimed Glory to be "beautifully acted," "pageant-like," and having "an almost overwhelming emotional impact." Glory will have a brief introduction from Professor Adam Pratt of the LSU History Department. Admission is free of charge, and there will also be refreshments. For questions or further information, contact Kelly Blessinger at 225-578-8538 or kblessi@lsu.edu.

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
