Copper Mill Elementary students visit LSU Libraries

On April 26, LSU Libraries welcomed 23 students and 2 teachers from Copper Mill Elementary School in Zachary, Louisiana. The students were fifth graders who work at shelving books in the library at Copper Mill, many of whom are considering careers as librarians and teachers. The students were given a tour and presentation of both Hill Memorial Library--by Tara Laver (Interim Head of Special Collections)--and Education Resources in Middleton Library--by Andrea Hebert (General Librarian), Robert Bigelow (Library Associate) and Mitch Fontenot (Outreach Librarian).

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
