LSU Libraries at International Summer Student Orientation

On May 31, 2013, LSU Libraries met with 19 new summer international students at the International Cultural Center as part of the International Services Office orientation program. Students from around the world, majoring in such disciplines as analytics, engineering, oceanography, and renewable natural resources, were provided with library information such as their subject librarians, LIS 1001, available electronic resources, and services provided by Special Collections as part of a one-day orientation to LSU. There will be a much larger orientation at the end of the summer to welcome the new fall semester international students.

For more information about LSU Libraries, the International Cultural Center (ICC), or the International Services Office (ISO), contact Mitch Fontenot, Outreach Librarian, at mfonten@lsu.edu, the ICC at icc@lsu.edu, or the ISO at isograd@lsu.edu.

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
