Cristina Caminita selected as ACRL Member of the Week

The Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) has selected Cristina Caminita, LSU Agriculture/Information Literacy Librarian, as this week’s “Member of the Week.”  This honor was announced in an article/interview on the ACRL Insider website.  The article notes that Caminita has been an ACRL member since 2009 and was selected by the American Library Association as an Emerging Leader for 2013.

In the accompanying interview, Caminita says that she finds membership in ACRL especially valuable for its networking, educational, and professional development opportunities.  She also notes her role at LSU in supporting the research needs of students and faculty, particularly at the College of Agriculture, and praises the work and collegial attitude of her library colleagues.

The Association of College and Research Libraries is a professional association of academic librarians that is dedicated to enhancing the ability of academic library and information professionals to serve the information needs of the higher education community and to improve learning, teaching, and research.  It is the largest division of the American Library Association, having a current membership of more than 12,000 members.
