Graduate students and student athletes visit Middleton Library

On June 3, Library Associate Robert Bigelow presented the Education Resources Library to a graduate Library and Information Science class in Room 227 of Middleton Library. Pictured here, Bigelow is introducing the Young Peoples Awards Collection to graduate students enrolled in LIS 7801,"The Illustrator as Storyteller."  The Education Resources Library supports the School of Education, School of Library and Information Science, School of Kinesiology, Distance Education and Service Learning students, and teachers throughout Louisiana. 

On June 14, Mitch Fontenot, Outreach Librarian, met with 13 new student athletes and Teresa Buchanan, their instructor for Faculty 101, to give a tour of Middleton Library and explain the services that LSU Libraries has to offer. The student athletes were shown Instructional Technology Services, the Research and Instruction, Circulation, and Interlibrary Borrowing Departments, Community Coffee House, Printing Services, and the libraries’ presentation rooms.

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
