Journal edited by LSU Librarian places third in 2013 Catholic Press Association Awards

The journal Catholic Library World, which is edited by LSU librarian Sigrid Kelsey, has been awarded third place in the Catholic Press Association’s annual awards in the category of "General Excellence - Professional & special-interest magazines including clergy & religious."  The awards were announced at the Catholic Media Conference, (June 19-21, 2013, Denver), noted in the June issue of The Catholic Journalist, and listed on the CPA website [http://www.catholicpress.org/?page=KobayashiMaru].  Judging for the awards is done by the Journalism Schools of Marquette University and Spring Hill College.

Established in 1929, Catholic Library World is the quarterly, peer-reviewed journal of the Catholic Library Association. Catholic Library World publishes articles focusing on all aspects of librarianship, especially as it relates to Catholicism and Catholic Studies.  Sigrid has served as General Editor of the journal since 2010.  She is also co-editor of five books, author of numerous articles and book chapters, and past recipient of the Baton Rouge Business Report's Forty under 40 award (2010), the Louisiana Library Association's Anthony H. Benoit Mid-Career Award (2010), and several other awards and honors.

Congratulations, Sigrid!
