New graduate students visit LSU Libraries/LSU Libraries present to Air Force ROTC and SLIS students

On Wednesday, August 21, 269 new graduate students visited Middleton Library as part of  the new graduate student orientation hosted by the Graduate School.  Representatives of the Libraries were on hand to meet with the new graduate students and connect them with their respective subject librarians. Approximately twenty librarians and staff members from Middleton Library and Hill Memorial Library distributed information about Special Collections, circulation, interlibrary services, education resources, music resources, and government documents.

On Thursday, August 22, Mark Martin (Processing Archivist) and Mitch Fontenot (Information Literacy and Outreach Librarian) presented library research instruction to new members of the Air Force ROTC class, and on Saturday, August 24, Jessica Lacher-Feldman (Head of Special Collections), Tom Diamond (Head of Research and Instruction Services), Sarah Ferstel (Interlibrary Borrowing Department), and Fontenot presented to the new students of the LSU School of Library and Information Science.

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
