Display honoring U.S. Congressman John R. Lewis in Middleton Library

Lewis display photoOn Tuesday, October 21, the LSU community will welcome noted civil rights leader and U.S. Congressman John R. Lewis to campus for a presentation that will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the LSU Student Union Theater.  In honor of his visit, the LSU Libraries has assembled and placed on display selected works from the Libraries’ collections highlighting the Congressman’s extraordinary life and career. The display is located in Middleton Library Room 141. Featured in the display is a copy of Lewis’s New York Times bestselling book entitled, “March,” written with Andrew Aydin, Digital Director and Policy Advisor to the Congressman. This award-winning graphic novel tells the remarkable story of Lewis’s commitment to justice and nonviolence. In addition to his evening presentation, Congressman Lewis and Aydin will participate in a book-signing event for “March” at LSU Barnes & Noble from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.
