As part of the Gear 2 Geaux program, laptops bought with tech fee money are available for students to check in Middleton Library. This program has been in place for over a decade and has always been popular with students. It is so popular that at times, all of the laptops are checked out with students waiting for them to become available.
Now, students can opt-in to receive a text alert when a laptop becomes available. When a laptop is returned, the first student waiting will receive a text and will have 30 minutes to pick up the laptop at the circulation desk in Middleton Library. Reservations can be made for up until two hours before the circulation desk closes.
The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
