Open Access Week panel discussion

LSU Libraries will kick off International Open Access Week (Oct. 24-30, 2016) with a panel discussion to focus on implementing Open Access here at LSU. Open Access allows students and researchers to have free and immediate access to scholarly work. The discussion will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24 at Hill Memorial Library’s lecture hall. Bob Schatz, Open Research Group, Institutional Engagement Manager at Springer Nature Publishing will be the special guest for the event. Other panelists include:

Jorge Pullin, LSU STEM Faculty
Aaron Sheehan-Dean, LSU Humanities Faculty
Teri Galloway and Emily Frank, LOUIS Open Access Textbook initiative members
Sigrid Kelsey, LSU Libraries Director of Library Communications and Publications
Tom Diamond, LSU Libraries Head of Collection Development and Open Access Initiatives

On Wednesday, Oct. 26, LSU Libraries’ Scholarly Communications Team will host an information table at the Libraries’ annual Open House from 11 a.m. -2 p.m. Be sure to stop by and hear the newest buzz about Open Access and other Scholarly Communications topics.
