Remembering Ray Bradbury: 1920-2012

Bradbury_POSTheader

The prolific, prophetic and ever popular works of Ray Bradbury have delighted, frightened and amazed audiences for nearly 80 years.  From short stories to novels, poetry to screenplays, children’s books to non-fiction, he possessed an imagination unmatched coupled with a brilliance for storytelling.  Bradbury was a huge advocate for public libraries.  He often attributed his career and success to his love for books, and quoted saying, “Libraries raised me.”

On this day, five years ago, Ray Bradbury’s illustrious career ended.  In remembrance of his passing, LSU Libraries Special Collections would like to celebrate his literary achievements.  A selection of digitized book covers and illustrations from Bradbury’s published works are now available online.  Special Collections holdings include rare limited edition books and several first editions from the Laughlin Collection.
