LSU Libraries welcomes Antonia Aultman

Aultman, Antonia (Tone)LSU Libraries welcomes Antonia Aultman as the Student Worker Supervisor for the Circulation Department in Access Services. Aultman began her career in librarianship in 1988, where she worked as an acquisitions student worker in the H.T. Sampson Library at Jackson State University. She is a native of Slidell, Louisiana, and is a graduate of the University of New Orleans. While pursuing studies, she worked as a library student assistant for the Earl K. Long Library, and later returned as a permanent staff member in the Long Library’s Multimedia Collection.

After Hurricane Katrina, she and her family moved to Aurora, Illinois, and eventually relocated to Montgomery, Alabama. There, she worked at Faulkner University’s Thomas Goode Jones School of Law Library for two years. Aultman went on to accept a position as supervisor of student workers and a senior library associate at Auburn University at Montgomery. At Auburn, she received the Betty J. Tims Staff Person of the Year Award for 2015, Award of Special Appreciation for the AUM Muslim Student Association in 2016, and in 2017, her students presented her with an "Academy Award for Bestest Boss Ever."

Outside of work, she loves to read children’s literature and watch science fiction, fantasy, or horror programs. In addition, she is a fan of board games and describes herself as a karaoke novice. Aultman is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, where she does much community service through the Tau Kappa Zeta graduate chapter in her hometown.

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
