Updates for fall 2017: hours, textbooks, and a new study space

Beginning on Monday, August 21st, the second, third, and fourth floors of Middleton Library will close at 10:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday.  (In the spring 2017 semester, these floors closed at midnight.)  These floors will continue to close at 8:00 PM on Fridays and 5:00 PM on Saturdays.  The first floor of Middleton Library will continue to remain open 24 hours a day Sunday through Thursday.  Please check the LSU Libraries website for any special closing hours for holidays.

LSU Libraries’ e-textbook program continues to grow.  Before purchasing a textbook for a class, check to see if it is available for free as an e-textbook; you can search for class e-textbooks here: http://www.lib.lsu.edu/ebooks.  The library is also expanding its collection of print textbooks on reserve.  If you do not find a textbook for a class in electronic format, you can check the library’s print reserves here as well:  http://www.lib.lsu.edu/ebooks

New study space

Middleton Library also has a new study space: Room 109 is now available with new seating.  (This is the room adjacent to CC’s Coffee House in Middleton Library.)  Sundays through Thursdays, Room 109 will be a collaborative study space until 10:00 PM.  After 10:00 PM, this room will become a quiet study space.  (Room 109 will be a collaborative study space on Fridays and Saturdays.)

Have a great semester!  We’re looking forward to seeing you in the library!

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library.
