LSU Libraries welcomes Brittany O’Neill

O'Neill, BrittanyBrittany O’Neill has joined LSU Libraries as a humanities and social sciences librarian in the Research and Instruction Services department. O’Neill earned her BA in English with a focus in Technical Communication from the University of Central Florida and her MLIS from Florida State University. She worked as a Liberal Studies Librarian and assistant professor at Hodges University in Naples, Florida before coming to LSU.

O’Neill’s position involves providing research support to faculty and students, collaborating with faculty to incorporate information literacy and library skills into English, History, Political Science, and Women’s and Gender Studies courses, and coaching students through assignments and projects requiring library research. She is passionate about research and is excited for her career at LSU, where she gets to aid in framing research assignments to further student success.

O’Neill is a Florida native and has spent most of her life in the Orlando area. She enjoys aerial arts, baking, and exploring the Baton Rouge.

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
