LSU Libraries librarians Hayley Johnson and Sarah Simms will conduct a research workshop series March 13-15. A different area will be covered each day, with two sessions available per day. The first session each day will take place from 11:00 a.m. until noon in 241A Middleton Library, and the second session will be from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in 241A Middleton Library.

Hayley Johnson, Head of Government Documents & Microforms

Sarah Simms, Undergraduate and Student Success Librarian

Day 1 focuses on helping students define their research questions or topics and develop research strategies for finding information on their topics.

Day 2 focuses on helping students navigate the library’s databases to find needed sources. Tips and tricks on how to get better Google results will also be taught.

Day 3 covers ideas on how to put research together in a digital format, including the different website vendors that can be used to share research as well as general guidelines on graphic design.

Johnson and Simms ask that students who attend bring their own laptops. Visit http://bit.ly/2FwEmQQ to register.

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
