Brittany O'Neill receives ATG Media Up and Comer award

LSU Libraries' Humanities and Social Sciences librarian, Brittany O'Neill, received an Up and Comer award from ATG Media. The 2018 Up and Comer awards were only given to 15 recipients throughout North America.

"The award is intended for librarians, library staff, vendors, publishers, MLIS students, instructors, consultants, and researchers who are new to their field or are in the early years of the profession," ATG Media says.

O'Neill and the other 2018 Up and Comers will be recognized in the December/January issue of Against the Grain, and featured in a series of scheduled podcast interviews. They were also recognized at the Charleston Conference First Time Attendee Reception on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 7:00 pm.

According to the web page about the Up and Comer award, "ATG Media is a new umbrella group that includes the Charleston Conference, Against the Grain, 'Charleston Briefings: Trending Topics for Information Professionals,' and 'Charleston Voices,' perspectives from the annual Charleston Conference. ATG Media is a wholly owned subsidiary of ATG, LLC."

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
