LSU Libraries welcomes Jessica Joseph

Jessica Joseph has joined LSU Libraries as Government Documents Needs and Offers Specialist.

In her new position, Joseph is responsible for overseeing the needs and offers of federal document materials needed for LSU Libraries to function as a Regional Library for the GPO (Government Printing Office) Federal Depository Library Program. She also supervises the Government Documents student workers.

Joseph hopes to learn more about academic libraries and librarianship as a staff member and student in the LSU MLIS Program. Prior to her new position, she worked in the Delgado Community College library. Her career background is in Information Technology, primarily focused on Technical Support and Quality Assurance. In the past, she has supported systems and managed system projects.  Assisted in the implementation of several systems and performed testing, including government systems.

Joseph is originally from Thibodaux, Louisiana but resides in Pine Grove area where she enjoys cooking (mostly baking), decorating and organizing, reading, and writing.

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
