Who's Your Holmes?

Hound of the Baskervilles poster from Russell A. Mann Sherlock Holmes Research CollectionLSU Libraries Special Collections presents a small exhibition of Sherlock Holmes artifacts and texts titled “Who’s Your Holmes?: Depictions and Adaptations of Sherlock Holmes and The Hound of the Baskervilles,” in the Hill Memorial Library lecture hall. The exhibit corresponds with the East Baton Rouge Parish Library’s 2019 One Book One Community selection, The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

The materials on display – all selected from the Russell A. Mann Sherlock Holmes Research Collection – highlight comic books and children’s adaptations of the novel, a variety of iconic toys, dolls, and figurines dressed as Holmes, and ephemera such as Hound of the Baskervilles stamps and trading cards, among others. The exhibit helps visitors understand the cultural impact of Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous sleuth.

The exhibition is free and open to the public from Monday, February 25 through Thursday, May 16.
