Open Textbook Adoption Workshop to be held on April 1

LSU Libraries invites faculty to attend an Open Textbook Adoption Workshop on Monday, April 1st from 1-2:30. This workshop will discuss the impact of high textbook costs on students and possible solutions through open textbooks. It will be useful to faculty members interested in adopting open textbooks, which are free and include permissions to reuse and revise the content. In addition, after the workshop, participants who attended will be invited to write a review of an open textbook relevant to their area of expertise and will receive $200 to compensate their time.

LSU faculty are welcome to APPLY HERE by March 28. Space is limited and faculty who find an open textbook that could be used for one of the courses they teach will receive priority (see available textbooks in the Open Textbook Library). Contact David Dunaway at ddunaw1@lsu.edu for more information.

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
