Book artist Julie Chen’s new work, Wayfinding, has found its way to Hill Memorial Library! This beautiful book is now on display in the exhibition “Exploding the Codex: Book Arts in Special Collections.”
Chen’s work is focused on the physical nature of the book and the sensory experience involved in the act of reading. For example, the paper used in the construction of Wayfinding produces a distinctive sound when pages are turned. The artist will present "Every Moment of a Book" as part of the Alfred C. Glassell, Jr. Endowed Lecture Series at the LSU College of Art & Design at 5 pm on Thursday, October 24, 2019, in the LSU Design Building Auditorium (Rm. 103).
