Libraries cancellations and announcements related to coronavirus updates

Update: 3/16/2020

Both Middleton Library and Hill Memorial Library will be closed beginning March 17, 2020

  1. Remote assistance will be available throughout the closure through the AskUs link on the Libraries’ homepage.
  2. Access to all digital resources will remain in place as usual.
  3. The LSU community may continue to request materials through interlibrary loan (ILL). Only requests for electronic materials will be filled, and print materials will not be available.
  4. Special Collections reference services will be provided remotely as we are able.
  5. Notice of the changes to Libraries services will be posted on the doors of both buildings and communicated on the website.

Events canceled

LSU Libraries events for the spring 2020 semester have been canceled. These include Audubon Day, the LSU Friends of the Libraries Book Bazaar, and all other events sponsored by the LSU Libraries.

FAQ

  • Library materials will automatically renew and overdue fines will not be assessed for unreturned material.
  • For ILL material, we will request lending libraries to waive fines for overdue material.

 

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
