Book return process time lengthened due to quarantining

LSU Libraries visitors who return books may not see it reflected in their account right away, because all books are being quarantined for three days once returned as a safety measure against the spread of COVID-19.

As a result, some overdue notices may be sent for returned books, but Libraries staff will cancel fines resulting from the time books spend in quarantine. Patrons are encouraged to check their accounts online a week after returning books to make sure they have been checked in.

The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
