This photograph, taken at approximately 9:45 on the morning of April 30, 1926, depicts the academic procession that began at Hill Memorial Library. Led by President Thomas Boyd, the Board of Supervisors, and other dignitaries, the procession, one of the first activities of the present campus’ formal dedication ceremony, ended at the Campanile.
The LSU Libraries includes the LSU Library and the adjacent Hill Memorial Library. Together, the libraries contain more than 4 million volumes and provide additional resources such as expert staff, technology, services, electronic resources, and facilities that advance research, teaching, and learning across every discipline.
