Dorothy Howell

Biography

Dorothy Colvin Howell attended Louisiana Normal School (now Northwestern State University of Louisiana) in 1938 and enrolled in the Home Economics Program at LSU from 1939-1942, completing her internship in the Helen Carter House. She then received her graduate degree in Agriculture Industry at LSU, where she had a fellowship. After working for years as a teacher, she returned to LSU to teach in 1962 and retired in 1983 as Assistant Director of the School of Home Economics.
