Through collaboration with local residents, the Lower Ninth Ward Living Museum seeks to
tell the history of the area through the perspective and voices of those who live there. In doing
so, the museum team has been working to record oral interviews with residents. Since the Museum has
opened, more than 60 Lower Ninth Ward residents have graciously shared generations of stories and
experiences with the Living Museum, to be included in the final museum exhibits.
All of the oral histories are available to researchers and are housed at the Museum and at the
Williams Center. If you are interested in gaining access to the database please email contact@livingmuseum.org.
Included in the video are Karen Frank, Ward "Mack" McClendon, Deborah Harris, Percy Robinson, and
Elijah Johnson.
