Anonymous travel diary, 1845-1847. 1 diary. Location: 31:. A travel diary written by an anonymous author discussing their trip to London to visit their son Robert. The author makes two trips, one from August 11, 1845 to September 3, 1845 and the second from October 5, 1847 to October 15, 1847. Both trips begin with a train ride from Richmond to London on the Great North of England Railway. Visits to sites such as Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, and the Royal Polytechnic Institution are described, as are meals and visitations with friends. Part of the George DeForest Collection, vol. 13. Mss. 1350.
