Robert Badon was born in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and educated in St. Martinville. He worked as a New Orleans public service employee, a county agent, and a school teacher. He was a veteran of World War I and graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in agriculture in 1918. Badon discusses early life and education in St. Martinville, his experiences as a cadet at LSU, as a county agent, and as a teacher, coach, and principal. He tells of anthrax vaccinations, introduction of fertilizer in sugar cane farming, and the spead of information in rural areas.
