Frellsen, Henry and Family. Collection, ca. 1836-1984. 0.25 linear ft. Location: B:7. Hans Hinrich Frellsen, later known as Henry Frellsen, was born in Flensburg, Denmark, on April 1, 1803. He participated in the liberation of Greece in the 1820s and later was a merchant, ship-owner, and estate owner in Denmark. Frellsen immigrated to Louisiana and founded the town of Copenhague in Caldwell Parish. He later was a businessman and Danish consul in New Orleans and owner of Fairview Plantation in St. Charles Parish. Henry Frellsen died in New Orleans on Sept. 17, 1884. Collection consist of photocopied documents concerning the ancestors and descendants of Henry Frellsen. Mss. 3872.
