The diaries provide insight into daily life in rural North Louisiana at the latter part of the 19th century through to the mid-20th. They also relate the military career of Campbell Blackshear Hodges. Diaries are comprised of personal entries, cash accounts, and records on chicken and egg production, garden plants ordered and planted, and clothing and linens produced. Mss. 3873.
