Letter written to Lauve by Oscar, of Bayou Plaquemine, Iberville Parish, Louisiana, describing pillage and destruction by the Union army in Iberville Parish; movements of Confederate troops in Louisiana; and family news. The letter also describes the situation concerning runaway slaves and treatment of slaves by the Union army.
